Sanayee Development Organization won UNESCO Bibigul literacy prize 2016

We are honored to announce that Sanayee Development Organization (SDO) has won UNESCO Bibigul Literacy Prize 2016. The Award was granted to SDO on Sunday 20 November 2016 by H.E. Rula Ghani; the First Lady of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in an official ceremony in the presence of Dr. Assadullah  Hanif Balkhi; Minister of Education,  DrSardar Mohammad Rahimi; Deputy Minister of Education for Literacy, Ms. Patricia McPhillips; Director and Representative of UNESCO in Afghanistan, Civil Society Organizations and non-governmental organizations’ (NGOs) representatives and many government officials at the Government Media and Information Center.

This award is an initiative by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Afghanistan to recognize the outstanding works of government bodies, NGOs and other institutions that come up with some innovative and efficient approaches to address the high rate of illiteracy in Afghanistan. This award was announced in 2016 for the first time where SDO was selected as the winner.

SDO is grateful to UNESCO for the initiative, the Selection Committee members and everyone who played a role to make this award possible.
